For Immediate
Release: March 29, 2008 TEANECK,
N.J. Visiting Binghamton (6-14) and Fairleigh Dickinson
(3-16) split 4-3 games Saturday afternoon at FDU Field. The Bearcats
took the opener before the host Knights captured the nightcap. Binghamton snapped a 1-1 tie with a three-run sixth inning. Freshman right fielder Peter Bregartner (East Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore left fielder Joe Charron (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) ripped back-to-back RBI doubles and freshman third baseman Brian Ivan (Toronto, Ontario) added an RBI single. Bregartner went 2-for-4 with the RBI and Ivan drove in two runs. In
game two, BU was held to just two hits but had good chances to
steal the win in the late innings. Trailing 4-0, the Bearcats
struck for three runs in the sixth inning - thanks to a one-out,
three-run blast from Charron, his third of the season. But a
double play ended BU's inning and after putting the potential
tying run back on base in the seventh, another double play ended
the game. |
