defeated by Georgia Southern 6-1
STATESBORO, Ga. - Host Georgia Southern (14-4) plated four runs in the fourth inning to erase a 1-0 deficit and the Eagles went on to a 6-1 victory over Binghamton (3-6-1) Wednesday night.
The Bearcats led 1-0 on a solo home run by senior catcher Kyle Loucks (Johnson City, N.Y.) in the top of the second inning. But BU managed just two more hits the rest of the way as four GSU pitchers racked up 14 strikeouts in the nine-inning game. Georgia Southern plated single runs in the fifth and seventh innings for the final margin.
Binghamton is off on Thursday before beginning a four-game set at Savannah State Friday and Saturday.
