BU baseball standout Hitchcock named America East co-Player of Week
Senior first baseman leads league with .421 average

America East Release

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton senior first baseman Brendon Hitchcock (Laceyville, Pa.) has been named America East co-Player of the Week for April 23-29.

The conference Player of the Year candidate helped the Bearcats sweep a four-game set from Hartford over the weekend, raising BU's record to 19-12 overall, 13-2 in league play.

Hitchcock was a force in the Hartford series, batting .692 (9-for-13) with four extra-base hits and nine RBI. He blasted a three-run home run on Saturday and capped the series with a 4-for-5, three-RBI performance on Sunday. He leads the America East with a .421 average, nearly 50 points higher than any other player. He has stepped that mark up against conference opponents, hitting a whopping .468.

Binghamton plays its final non-conference games Tuesday - an away tilt at Le Moyne.
