Release: March 21, 2008 MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State (8-11) snapped a 2-2 tie with three runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth and went on to defeat visiting Binghamton (5-9) 10-4 Friday night at Tointon Family Stadium. The Bearcats outhit their Big 12 hosts 10-9. Senior ace Zach Groh (Reading, Pa.) was chased from the game after allowing five runs in two innings, and the Wildcats added five more runs off four BU relievers. Binghamton scored twice in the second inning and added two more runs in the ninth. Sophomore third baseman Brian Ivan (Toronto, Ontario) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and junior shortstop Kyle Klee (Rochester, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. The teams will continue their three-game series with a single game at 3 p.m. on Saturday. |
