Release: April 30, 2008 VESTAL, N.Y. Exactly one week after Binghamton snapped Le Moyne's nine-game win streak, the Dolphins (22-19) returned the favor Wednesday afternoon at Varsity Field, pounding out 21 hits and 18 runs in an 18-2 win over the Bearcats (19-22). The loss snapped BU's school-record nine-game win streak. Le Moyne shook off an early 1-0 BU lead with nine runs in the top of the second inning. The Dolphins chipped away at BU's midweek pitching with 10 singles in the frame. Le Moyne continued the onslaught with runs in each of the final four innings. Junior first baseman Ryan Holley (Frankfort, Ill.) went 2-for-4, sophomore left fielder Joe Charron (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) had an RBI single in the first inning and senior second baseman Ryan James (Wading River, N.Y.) extended his hit streak to 10 games with a first-inning single. With a key four-game conference series at Vermont looming over the weekend, BU utilized six reserve pitchers, each tossing anywhere from one to 2.2 innings. |
