Release: September 21, 2009 VESTAL, N.Y. -- After an outstanding summer season in the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League, Binghamton outfielder Corey Taylor was selected as an all-star. Taylor was one of three outfielders chosen from the eight-team league. Playing for the Herndon Braves, Taylor hit .348 and led the league in home runs (6) and hits per game (1.3). He ranked second in slugging percentage (.587), extra-base hits (18), was fourth in runs (30), fifth in hits (48) and average and seventh in RBI (22). Herndon finished fourth with a 19-22 record. Taylor, an all-region and first team all-conference player in 2009, will begin his junior season this February with the defending America East champion Bearcats. |
