Release: March 2, 2008 Virginia Tech scored four runs in the second inning, two in the fourth, two in the fifth and three more in the sixth to blow the game wide open. Binghamton got on the board with a run in the eighth frame. Senior third baseman Ryan James (Wading River, N.Y.), who went 2-for-4, led off the eighth with a single, moved to third on a double by freshman right fielder Peter Bregartner (East Islip, N.Y.) and scored on an RBI groundout b y sophomore left fielder Joe Charron (Schaghticoke, N.Y.). Binghamton managed just five hits on the afternoon. The Bearcats open a three-game series at Longwood University on March 8 in Farmville, Va.. |
