Binghamton golf finishes eighth at New Orleans River City Classic
Ungvarsky, Vinal shoot even-par, lead BU to final-round 295

EASTOVER, La.-- Binghamton golf shaved seven strokes off its opening round at the River City Classic, shooting a 295 in Tuesday's closing round to place eighth out of 10 teams. The season-opening event was hosted by University of New Orleans at the par-72, 7,005-yard Golf Course at Eastover. Wichita State won the tournament (570), followed by the host Privateers (575), Louisiana-Monroe (576), Oklahoma City (583), McNeese State (587), Iowa (588), Belmont (596), BU (302-295=597), Indian Hills CC (602) and Montevallo (624).

Sophomore Aaron Ungvarsky (Wilmington, Mass.) and freshman Zach Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y.) were in a tie for 15th place among 54 golfers after each shooting 74-72=146. Ungvarsky recorded seven birdies in his two rounds, while Vinal registered one of the tournament's eight eagles.

Sophomore Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) placed 40th (75-77=152), junior Brad Moulton (Orangeville, Ontario) tied for 47th (82-74=156) and junior Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) tied for 50th (79-79=158).

Binghamton returns to action at the Towson Classic on April 2-3.
