Immediate Release: February 14, 2006 PALA MESA, Calif. - Binghamton University golf opened its spring season at the Drake Pala Mesa Invitational, and placed 13th out of 14 teams at the 54-hole event. The Bearcats shot 322-314-306=942 - improving with each round. Junior Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) tied for 22nd out of 77 after carding rounds of 76-73-74 at the 6,502-yard par-72 Pala Mesa Resort course. Junior Matt Mattingly (Manlius, N.Y.), playing as an individual, tied for 37th (81-70-76=227). Senior Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) had BU's best round of the day, firing an even-par 72. Binghamton will next compete at the Towson Classic on April 1-2. |
