Binghamton golf places sixth at America Sky Conference tourney
Marler earns all-conference honors with fifth-place finish (75-73)

NORTH FALMOUTH, Mass.– Binghamton golf shot 311-309=620 to finish sixth at the seven-team America Sky Championship, hosted by Hartford at the Ballymeade Country Club. The tournament, which was played in conjuction with the 23-team Hartford Invitational, was shortened from 54 holes to 36 after Sunday's opening round was rained out. The Bearcats placed 21st in the larger tournament scoring.

Sacramento State won the conference title (296-293=589), followed by Hartford (608), Northern Colorado (609), TExas Pan American (611), Weber State (613), BU (620) and Utah Valley (634). Baylor won the larger invitational with a 566 total.

Sophomore Andrew Marler shot 75-73=148 to finish in a tie for fifth place and earn all-conference honors. He tied for 25th overall out of 117 golfers. In the two rounds, he collected seven birdies and played the par 4s even.

Junior Patrick Donovan shot 80-75=155 to tie for 15th and sophomore Jake Katz shot 75-81=156 to tie for 19th. Senior JJ Shearer (87-80) and junior Mike Corbo (81-87) rounded out the scoring.

The Bearcats next compete at the Yale MacDonald Cup on October 4-5.
