BU men's golf ties for fourth out of 15 at St. Bonaventure Invitational
Ungvarsky is runner-up out of 80 golfers after shooting 69-73

OLEAN, N.Y. - Binghamton golf shot 297-291=588 to tie for fourth place out of 15 teams at the St. Bonaventure Keenan Invitational, played Sunday and Monday at the par-70, 6,30-yard Bartlett Country Club. The host Bonnies won the team title in a playoff over Drexel. Both teams shot 575. Niagara was third (585), followed by BU and Cornell (588) in the top-five.

Junior Aaron Ungvarsky (Wilmington, Mass.) was runner-up out of 80 golfers after shooting rounds of 69-73=142 (+2). Sophomore Zach Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y.) tied for fourth place (75-70=145) to give the Bearcats two top-10 performers.

Classmate Ryan Gabel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) was in share of 40th place (75-75=150), junior Matt Mattingly (Manlius, N.Y.) tied for 49th (80-73=153) and junior Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) tied for 56th (78-77=155). Senior Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) played as an individual and shot 73-77=150 to tie for 40th place.

Binghamton next heads to New Haven, Conn. for the Yale MacDonald Cup on October 8-9. The Bearcats are the defending tournament champions.
