ISSUE, Md.--The Bearcats fought off bone-chilling temperatures in brutal playing conditions on Monday, finishing in ninth place at the George Washington Invitational, held at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club. The event was shortened to a one-day, 18-hole tournament after a snowstorm in the area on Sunday.
Binghamton shot a round of 332 to finish 23 strokes behind Princeton, which captured the team title by three strokes over Yale. Yale's Neel Williams took individual medalist honors with a 1-over-par score of 73.
Leading the Bearcats was freshman Brad Moulton (Orangeville, Ontario), who placed 11th with a score of 79. Senior captain Adam Fuchs (Plainview, N.Y.-JFK Plainview) finished 24th with an 82, and freshman Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) carded an 83 to finish 34th. Junior Keith Hendrickson (Syosset, N.Y.) shot an 85 and classmate Eric Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) carded an 86. Junior Joe Kunz (Webster, N.Y.) finished with an 87.
This weekend the Bearcats will head for Connecticut to participate in the Yale Invitational. Binghamton and Yale are among a group of teams from District I vying for three spots in the NCAA field of 64.
