Immediate Release: April 17, 2005 ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Binghamton shaved eight strokes off its opening round with a closing 305 on Sunday, and placed 13th out of 20 schools at the Navy Invitational, played at the 6,556-yard par-71 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course. Sophomore Aaron Ungvarsky (Wilmington, Mass.) shot 77-75=152 for low honors on the team. He tied for 23rd place out of 105 golfers. Classmate Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) went 78-76=154, juniors Casey Wheet (Elmira, N.Y.) and Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) each shot 79-77=156, and freshman Zach Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y.) recorded back-to-back 80s in his first action back from surgery. Binghamton next plays in the New England Championship, hosted by Providence on April 23-24. |
