Four Binghamton University golfers selected to All-New England teams
Sophomore Wolniewicz named to first team, three others on second

VESTAL, N.Y. - Four Binghamton University golfers were selected to the All-New England teams, the school learned today. Sophomore Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) made the first team, and freshman Zach Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y.), sophomore Aaron Ungvarsky (Wilmington, Mass.) and junior Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) each were selected to the second team. The four honorees is double the program's all-region selections from a year ago.

Wolniewicz, the team's No. 1 man, led the entire Northeast region in scoring average in the fall (73.1) and captured the Yale MacDonald Cup with rounds of 74-74-66. Wolniewicz placed among the top-10 in eight of 12 tournaments and carried a team-low 74.2 average for the 2004-05 year.

Vinal jumped into the starting lineup as a freshman and responded by being the No. 2 man with a 75.1 scoring average. He captured medalist honors at the America East Championship (73-71) and had four top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments. Ungvarsky maintained a 75.8 average and BU's top man in two spring tournaments. Crawford held down a 77.8 average with four top-10 finishes, including a fourth-place showing at BU's NBT Bank Classic in the fall (76-74).

The Bearcats, under head coach Nick Lasky, won four tournaments, including the America East title, and narrowly missed out on a third straight NCAA berth.
