BU men's golfer Wolniewicz named America East Player of the Week
No. 1 man ties for first at New England Championship, leads Bearcats to title

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton junior golfer Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) has been selected as America East Player of the Week for April 10-16.

Wolniewicz, BU's No. 1 man, tied for first place out of 80 golfers at the New England Championship after shooting 68-73=141. His sizzling four-under 68 in the opening round featured 14 pars and four birdies. He and Rhode Island's Ben Spitz tied for the individual title before Spitz won medalist honors on the second extra-hole.

Wolniewicz has four top-10 finishes in nine tournaments this year and leads BU with a 73.9 scoring average.
