BU men's golf storms back to finish second at Yale MacDonald Cup
Wolniewicz fires final round 68 to steer team to runnerup honors

Final Results

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Binghamton golf shot 295-186=581 to place second out of 20 schools at the Yale MacDonald Cup, played Saturday and Sunday at Yale's 6,770-yard par-70 golf course. The Bearcats, who were defending champions, finished one stroke behind team champion Penn (580). Rhode Island (582), Richmond (584), Army (588) and Hartford (588) rounded out the top five. Binghamton's final-round 286 (+6) was the second lowest round of the 36-hole tournament.

Junior Jeff Wolniewicz (West Seneca, N.Y.) carded a final-round 68 (-2) and wound up tied for third among 108 golfers. He shot 72-68=140 (even). Senior Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) posted rounds of 75-70=145 to tie for 10th place, junior Aaron Ungvarsky (Wilmington, Mass.) and sophomore Zach Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y.) each recorded a pair of 74s to tie for 26th place and sophomore Ryan Gabel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) came in at 80-75.

Binghamton returns home to host the NBT Bank Collegiate Classic at The Links at Hiawatha Landing on October 15-16.
