NEW HAVEN, Conn. Binghamton golf shot a 54-hole score of 889 (294-288-307) to place fifth out of 15 teams at the Yale MacDonald Cup. The 54-hole event included 36 holes on Saturday and the final 18 holes on Sunday at Yale's par-70 course. Oklahoma won the event with a score of 860, followed by Yale (868), Bryant (871), Sacred Heart (872) and BU in the top five.
Senior JJ Shearer shook off an opening 81 to tie for 23rd place out of 81 golfers. He shot 81-72-71=224. Sophomore Jake Katz shot 74-72-79=225 to tie for 26th. Junior Mike Corbo (74-72-80=226) tied for 29th, junior Patrick Donovan (69-72-86=227) tied for 34th and sophomore Andrew Marler (77-74-77=228) was tied for 38th.
The Bearcats next compete at the Philadelphia Big 5 next weekend.
