Complete List of Honorees

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Anthony Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown) and sophomore Nick Billings (Kodiak, Alaska) were honored by the America East Conference on the heels of a successful 14-win season that featured a fourth-place finish in the conference.

Green was selected as first team all-conference, meaning he was voted one of the best five players in the entire league. Billings was named to the second team and was chosen as the league's Defensive Player of the Year.

Green, a 6-foot-1 point guard who played his final two seasons at Binghamton, ranked third in the America East in scoring (16.7 ppg.), and led the conference in both steals (1.85 per game) and free throw percentage (84.0%). In addition, he was second in assists (4.22) and three-point field goals (2.63 per game), and even cracked the rebound list with 4.8 boards per game - the shortest player among the top-20.

"It's a great tribute to Anthony's work ethic, courage and talent, and it is a well-deserved honor," head coach Al Walker said. "He was one of the most expolosive players in the league, and carried us time and time again on his back with his scoring and passing skills."

Billings, meanwhile, transformed his game from a one-dimensional defensive presence to a threat at both ends of the floor. He led the league in blocks and ranks second in the nation (4.3 per game), was fifth in the America East in rebounding (6.7), and bumped up his scoring production to 9.0 points per game. Billings reached double figures in eight of his final nine games.

"College basketball is begining to take notice of the 'big fella' in Binghamton," Walker said. "Nick is just beginning to acknowledge and understand the rewards that the game can bring to him. With continued hard work and growth, we hope that Nick will lead us to the America East championship as possibly a first team all-star and league MVP."
