BU men's basketball adds Gonzaga transfer Davis to program
6-foot-9 forward is enrolled, will be eligible to play next December

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton University men's basketball coach Kevin Broadus has landed a highly-touted transfer for the 2008-09 season. Six-foot-9, 235-pound forward Theo Davis (Brampton, Ontario/Gonzaga) has enrolled at the university this spring and will be eligible to compete for the Bearcats after the 2008 fall semester ends next December.

Out of high school, Davis was rated the #7 center in Canada by Scout.com. He was offered scholarships by Texas and Iowa State before settling on Gonzaga. After red-shirting his first year with the Bulldogs with an injury, he played four games in 2007-08.

Davis attended Cardozo High School in Queens as a junior, averaging 16.9 points and 14.9 rebounds. He led the team to the New York City PSAL title game, where they lost to Lincoln and current NBA player Sebastien Telfair. He then played two seasons at Lutheran Christian Academy in Philadelphia.

He was a member of Canada's team that competed at the FISU World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
