Release: March 31, 2008 VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton men's basketball sophomore forward Lazar Trifunovic (Belgrade, Serbia) has been granted a release from his scholarship and will not be continuing his collegiate career at Binghamton, the school announced Monday. Trifunovic has not indicated where he will transfer. "Lazar asked for his release and we have granted that request," head coach Kevin Broadus said. "We want guys who want to be here and even though he won't be finishing his academic and athletic endeavors at Binghamton, we wish him well." A two-year starter and third team America East all-star this season, Trifunovic was Binghamton's leading scorer (14.0) and rebounder (7.1) in 2007-08. As a freshman, he earned America East all-rookie honors after averaging 10.9 points and a team-best 6.5 rebounds. In two seasons, Trifunovic compiled 706 points (12.4/game) and 388 rebounds (6.8/game). |
