Men's
Basketball Quotes
The
Binghamton men's and women's basketball teams hosted their respective
preseason media days at the Events Center on Monday afternoon,
welcoming members of the local media to meet the 2007-08 teams
for the first time.
Head
Coach Kevin Broadus
On
how the team has been working during the off-season

like the way the team showed a hard work ethic during the summer
and the pre-season with or without coaches around."
On
the new system that is being implemented
"We are going to see a lot of defensive pressure on the
ball and teammates covering each other's backs. On the offensive
side there will be a lot of motion and discipline if it is going
to work."
On the keys to winning games
"The key to winning games will be the second five being
as good as the starting five. Our success will depend on everyone
bringing their best to the court day-in and day-out."
On the importance of the returning seniors
"The seniors don't want to go out as a losing group
and have really stepped up by being leaders on the court as well
as setting the tone by finishing first in drills."
Senior
guard and team captain Mike Gordon
On
the newcomers (coaching staff and players)
"The
coaches are great, and the new players they brought in are great
Brandon [Herbert] is going to be a big surprise."
On
his role as captain
"[I'm
going to] get these guys going, and be the leader - on and off
the court."
On
the effort the team will bring to the conference tournament
"Everyone
is going to play like it's their last game."
Sophomore forward Lazar Trifunovic
On handling the adjustment process
"This team is going to be about everyone playing together
Everybody
already got adjusted to everything
Mike Gordon, Richie Forbes
and I are trying to keep everyone together."
On
first-year head coach Kevin Broadus
"He
really knows his game. He's bringing the Georgetown style here.
We're going to have more transitions. It's going to be a faster
game. We're going to be a really attractive team to watch."
Senior guard Richard Forbes
On hosting the conference tournament
"It's
going to be a fun way to go out. We have a lot of fans here.
They treat me like I've been here for four years even though
I've only been here for one." |
