Binghamton men's lacrosse loses 9-7 to No. 20 Albany
In a game which featured four ties and three lead changes, Binghamton deadlocked the score at 6-6 on a goal by senior attack Johnny Baron with 8:59 left in the third quarter. Just 40 seconds later, however, junior midfielder Mark Cometti netted the go-ahead goal for the Great Danes. From there, it took Albany just 42 seconds to score again, this time on a goal by freshman midfielder Rocky Banitatibus.
The ensuing 19 minutes were scoreless until freshman midfielder Joe Resetarits netted his second goal of the game with just 3:40 remaining. Senior midfielder Duncan Streeten cut the deficit to 9-7 at the 1:18 but the Great Danes held on the rest of the way.
Binghamton outshot Albany 43-33 for the game.
Senior goalie Larry Kline made 10 saves.
The Bearcats head to No. 8 UMBC next Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
