men's lacrosse announces 2012 incoming class
VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team has announced
its 12-man incoming recruiting class. The 11 freshmen and one
junior transfer will join the program later this month, when
the 2011-12 academic year begins.
"We are excited to have these 12 young men join our program,"
first-year head coach Scott Nelson said. "They come from
great programs and will represent Binghamton University well
as student-athletes while they are here."
From the Long Island region, Binghamton landed defenders Matthew
DeLea (Wading River, N.Y.), Frank Gluchowski (Bayport,
N.Y.) and Sean Mahoney (Shoreham, N.Y.) along with midfielder
Emmett O'Hara (Bay Shore, N.Y.). Midfielder Connor
Ferrito (Homer, N.Y.), defender Matt Kopp (Fayetteville,
N.Y.) and attack Paul O'Donnell (Skaneateles, N.Y.) come
from the Central New York Region.
Defender Michael Collins (Rye, N.Y.) and midfielder Anthony
Lombardo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) arrive from the Hudson
Valley Region while midfielder J.T. Hauck (Webster, N.Y.)
hails from the Rochester area. From out of state comes goalie
Colin Nesdale (Cheshire, Conn.) and defender Ralph
Barisano (Westford, Mass.).
Binghamton went 7-8 (3-2 AE) and tied for second in the conference.
The Bearcats reached the America East Tournament for the seventh
time in eight seasons.
