Men's lacrosse ranked No. 1 in defense among NCAA Division I teams

NCAA Statistics

VESTAL, N.Y.-- The NCAA has released its Division I men's lacrosse statistics and Binghamton is currently the No. 1 defense team. Through two games, the Bearcats lead all NCAA Division I squads with a 2.00 goals against average. In addition, Binghamton also ranks first in penalty kills, having not allowed a goal in all seven man-down situations.

Junior goalie Larry Kline (Beverly, Mass.) has posted a Division I-best 2.00 goals against average. He has also turned in a .862 save percentage.

The Bearcats (1-1) dropped their season-opener to No. 15 Drexel 3-2 on March 1. This past Saturday, however, they bounced back to defeat Marist 5-1.

Binghamton hosts Sacred Heart (3-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Pioneers are currently receiving votes in the USILA Top 20 Poll.
