Release: June 12, 2008 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Men's lacrosse top all NCAA Division I squads in man-down defense for 2008 NCAA Statistics VESTAL, N.Y.--The NCAA has released its final Division I men's lacrosse statistics and Binghamton has emerged as the top man-down defensive team in the nation. In addition, the Bearcats tied for ninth in the nation in scoring defense. Binghamton successfully killed off 29 of 35 man-down situations this season (.829). In terms of scoring defense, the Bearcats tied Harvard for ninth among Division I schools with a 7.50 goals against average. No other team in the America East Conference was ranked among the top 25 defensive teams on the Division I level. Individually for Binghamton, junior goalie Larry Kline (Beverly, Mass.) ranked No. 11 among Division I players with a 7.41 goals against average and No. 22 with a .564 save percentage. |
