Binghamton men's lacrosse loses 6-5 at Hobart

Box score

GENEVA, N.Y.--Mike Suits scored with 2:07 remaining in regulation as Hobart (2-2) rallied for a 6-5 win over visiting Binghamton (2-5) on Tuesday afternoon. The loss is the fifth in the past six games for the Bearcats.

Suits' goal capped a three-goal, second-half rally by the host Statesmen, who trailed 5-3 at the half. The Bearcats scored three straight second-quarter goals but were held scoreless the final 30 minutes.

With 6:44 left in the third quarter, Chris Pedersen pulled Hobart to within 5-4. Just 14 seconds into the final period, Kurtis Gibbs deadlocked the game. That set the stage for Suits' game winner.

For Binghamton, freshman attack Tyler Perrelle had a team-best two points (one goal, one assist). Junior goalie Dan Solazzo made 11 saves.

Hobart outshot the Bearcats 45-27 but the most telling statistic came in the faceoff circle, where Binghamton won just one of the 15 draws. The Statesmen also held a 29-17 advantage in ground balls.

Binghamton is off until March 30, when it hosts Lehigh at 7 p.m.
