Signs of success: National rankings notice Bearcats

Binghamton's success this season has not gone unnoticed, as the team received votes in the latest edition of both the poll and the Geico/STX poll. Both polls rank the nation's top 20 teams and list up to five other teams that are receiving votes. The Bearcats received five votes in the poll and ranked 23rd. Dartmouth (13) and Delaware (12) were ranked ahead of Binghamton, with 20 votes needed to break into the top 20. THe USILA Geico/STX poll had the Bearcats ranked 23rd, behind Denver and Duke but ahead of Massachusetts.

In just its third season of varsity competition, the Bearcats have a 9-5 overall record and carry the #1 seed into the America East Championship. Binghamton was picked to finish sixth in the seven-team conference, but instead went 6-0 against conference foes in the regular season. The Bearcats knocked off two-time defending regular season champ Albany 9-8 last Saturday to secure the #1 seed.
