America East Conference Release

VESTAL, N.Y.--Junior goalie Kevin McKeown (Brewster, N.Y.) and Freshman defender Michael Cove (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) have been named the America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Player and Co-Rookie of the Week respectively for Apr. 25-May 7. This is the fourth time in McKeown's career that he has earned the award. This marks the second time this season that a men's lacrosse player earned Rookie of the Week, Stephen Smith was named on April 18.

McKeown, the America East GAA leader, made eight saves in goal, holding a potent Stony Brook offense that ranks third in the country to a conference season-low eight goals. McKeown also had four ground balls.

Cove has been a starter all year as a freshman on last year's number one ranked defensive team which didn't lose any starters in the off-season. On Saturday he was part of the defense that held the potent Stony Brook offense to a season-low eight goals.

No. 2 Albany (8-5, 5-1 AE) hosts a semifinal game on Wednesday at 3:30 against No. 3 Binghamton (4-8, 4-2 AE) as part of America East Men's Lacrosse Championship.
