Binghamton men's lacrosse earns 2006 James Adams Sportsmanship Award

VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton University men's lacrosse team has received the 2006 James Adams Sportsmanship Award from U.S. Lacrosse National Headquarters. Voted on by game officials, Binghamton was cited as having the team and fans which exhibited the best sportsmanship of all of the schools in the Upstate New York District.

Named after former coach James Adams, the award is presented annually by the U.S. Lacrosse Men's Division Collegiate Officials Committee to a program which exemplified the highest standards of class and professionalism. This is the second time in its five-year intercollegiate history that the Bearcats have received the award, with the other instance coming in 2004.

"I'm very proud of our lacrosse student-athletes and of our coaching staff for their receipt of the James Adams Sportsmanship Award," Binghamton Athletic Director Joel Thirer said. "They continue to represent the values of the Binghamton University Athletic Department in a very positive fashion."
