Back to Albany

Five weeks ago, the Binghamton men's soccer team squared off against Albany to start its America East schedule. Tomorrow, the Bearcats head back up Interstate 88 for a much more important match. At stake for the Bearcats is a historic sixth consecutive trip to the conference championship game.

Head Coach Paul Marco

"The excitement level is pretty good on our team. The guys seem up and ready for the match. They seem well rested. We had two light sessions and I think all systems are go."

"Albany has had a remarkable season. It is a great turnaround from last year. It must one of the biggest and best turnarounds this year for a Division I program. I think they will be up for the match."

"They (Albany) are the top scoring team in the conference and one of the top in the country. We will have to be ready for the run of play. We will have to be sharp in any moment and get good layers of players around the ball."

"Both goalkeepers (Jason Stenta and Steward Ceus) will definitely be called upon by their teams to hopefully secure victory. Stenta has trained well the last couple of days and I think he will be up for the challenge."

Senior back Barry Neville

"It was a great attacking performance we had Saturday (against New Hampshire). It helped that we got the goals early in the game and it set the tone for the rest of the game. Hopefully we can continue to do well this week against Albany."

"Even though we beat Albany in the regular season, it doesn't mean as much now that it is playoff time. They are probably the favorites being the No. 2 seed so hopefully we can go up there and get a good result against them."

Junior forward Cameron Keith

"Our win against Albany in the regular season won't count for much tomorrow. We know they are a very good team. It is going to be really tough. We have to forget about our struggles on the road this season and go in there and get a good result."

"We want the season to go on as long as possible. For a lot of us, it is going to be our last season here."
