MEN'S SOCCER DAILY UPDATE

Gearing up for Opening Night

The Binghamton men's soccer team isn't the only group getting ready for Friday's home opener. The BU Soccer Hooligans, the student fan club is diligently working on its cheers and chants to be used during the 2008 season.

Under the leadership of Erwin Seguia, the BU Soccer Hooligans made an appearance at the Aug. 17 exhibition game against Syracuse. In addition, over two dozen members traveled to the Binghamton-Colgate game on Sept. 5. The regular season home opener on Friday, however, has been circled on the calendar for quite some time. With over 175 members on its Facebook site, the BU Soccer Hooligans are looking forward to a large turnout against Bucknell.

"We plan on tailgating before the match and anyone that wants to come and make some noise against Bucknell is welcome to join us," Seguia said. "We're hoping to give (the Bearcats) everything they can to win."

While kickoff is still two days away, here is a sneak preview at some of the BU Soccer Hooligans chants:

We Are the Bearcat Boys
(theme song for the BU Soccer Hooligans)

Hello, Hello!
We are the Bearcat Boys!
Hello, Hello!
You'll know us by our noise!
We're up to our knees in (opposing school)'s blood,
Surrender or you'll die,
For we are the Binghamton Bearcat Boys!

Whose That Team We Call the Bearcats

All of (opposing team) went to rome, just to see the Pope,
And all of (opposing team) went to rome, just to see the Pope,
And all of (opposing team) went to rome, just to see the Pope,
And this is what He said:

Whose that team we call the bearcats?
Whose that team we all adore?
They're the boys in green and white,
And they're flippin' dynamite,
And (opposing school)'s never gonna score!

You'll Never Walk Alone
(Theme Song for Liverpool which several Bearcat players requested be sung)

When you walk through a storm,
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on, through the wind,
Walk on, through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
