MEN'S SOCCER
DAILY UPDATE September 26, 2008 Heading Up to Ithaca Binghamton puts its seven-game unbeaten streak on the line as it heads up to Ithaca tonight for a 7 p.m. game against Cornell. Here are some quotes from head coach Paul Marco and selected players on the eve of the match. Head Coach Paul Marco "Cornell is a team that was struggling to find the back of the net but in their last game they got two goals against a very good Lafayette team. We played Lafayette earlier in the year so we understand what that level is like. We are looking for a good match on Friday." "Last year's game against Cornell was tight until we got two late goals. The score (3-0) probably wasn't indicative of the entire match." Senior midfielder Barry Neville "We feel like the Hartwick game is one that slipped away from us, so we got to improve before Friday." "Liam (Carson) has been a massive loss for us, but the back four has pulled together to make sure there are clean sheets (i.e. shutouts) every game. I am definitely happy with the way the whole team is defending right now." Senior midfielder Ryan Tomko "It's definitely a good opportunity for us to come out and play well like we have the last couple of games. Cornell is going to be ready for us. They beat Lafayette (2-1 on Monday) so it's going to be a tough game for us under the lights at their place." "We are doing some good things in training. We just need to clean up some of the little things before Friday but with the energy and competitiveness we have shown in training, we are looking forward to the game against Cornell."
