MEN'S SOCCER
DAILY UPDATE September 30, 2008 Heading to Maryland Binghamton travels to Ludwig Field to face the No. 6 Terps of Maryland. The Bearcats are currently receiving votes in both the College Soccer News and NSCAA/adidas weekly polls. Here are quotes from head coach Paul Marco on the eve of the match. "Maryland is a very dynamic, organized and athletic team. They've got some special players in positions that give opponents problems. Sasho (Cirovski) is very well respected and is one of the top coaches in the country. He brings out the best in the opponent as well as getting the best out of his team." "Our guys will be ready for the atmosphere. We will have to embrace it and use it to our advantage." "I told the guys during training today that we put Maryland on the schedule a few years ago because we wanted to see how good this team could be. We wanted to go out and compete against top teams in the country and Maryland for over a decade has been one of those top teams." "I think every match helps you figure out who you are and what your strengths are. This is a challenge for us because athletically, Maryland is very good and technically they understand how to move a ball and how to keep a ball moving forward and defensively they are relentless so it will be a very good matchup for us."
