Profiles of 2009 Incoming Class

VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton men's soccer team has announced its 2009 incoming recruiting class. All 11 players will join the program as freshmen this coming fall.

Locally, the Bearcats signed midfielder Tyler Bailey (Spencer, N.Y.) and goalkeeper Chris Hayen (Oneonta, N.Y.).

From the Albany Region come midfielders Kyle Roney (Middleburg, N.Y.) and Tommy Klim (Delmar, N.Y.).

Continuing their tradition of bringing in solid players from overseas, Binghamton signed midfielders Chris Hobbs (Cleveland, England) and Adam Whitehead (Lancashire, England) as well as back Matthew Robertson (Aberdeznshire, Scotland).

Completing the incoming class are freshman midfield/forward Jake Keegan (Stormville, N.Y.), freshman midfielders C.J. Scirto (Lockport, N.Y.) and backs Adam Weinzimer (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and Kevin Bunce (City, N.Y.)

"I see this group bringing into our team a love and passion for the game," head coach Paul Marco said. "They study the game and will fit in very good with our program. They are all good students and will be successful on and off the field."

Binghamton finished the 2008 season 12-6-3 and advanced to the America East championship game for a conference-record sixth consecutive season.
