BU lands three student-athletes on America East Men's Soccer All-Academic Team

VESTAL, N.Y.--Senior midfielder Chris Terry, junior midfielder Scott Zobre and sophomore forward Andy Tiedt have been named to the America East All-Academic Men's Soccer Team. They each earned the honor through their on the field performance as well as their accomplishments in the classroom.

Terry, who last week was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, started all 19 games this season. According to the America East, he holds the highest overall GPA of any player on the conference's All-Academic Team this year (3.90). He is majoring in biology.

Zobre, who earned second-team all-conference honors last week, has a 3.64 GPA in math. Tiedt, meanwhile, holds a 3.60 GPA in business. Both players scored a pair of goals this season.

Binghamton tied Hartford and New Hampshire with a conference-best three players on the America East All-Academic Team. There were 11 players named to the team.

All-Academic squads for team sports are based on the number of athletes that participate in a contest at one time (e.g., 11 on the field for soccer) but can be more if there is a tie in voting. To be nominated for the distinction, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve for their team and participate in at least 50 percent of their team’s games or competitions. In the classroom, student-athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have completed at least one calendar year at their institution. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.
