Six BU men's soccer players earn all-conference honors

America East Conference Release

VESTAL, N.Y.---Senior back Barry Neville and senior midfielder Justin Leskow have each been named first-team all-conference for the 2008 season, the America East announced today. The senior duo was among six Binghamton players to earn all-conference accolades.

Earning second team honors were senior forward Cameron Keith and sophomore back Kyle Manscuk. Freshman forward Andy Tiedt and freshman midfielder Ryan Walter were named to the All-Rookie Team.

Neville, who was a first-team midfielder in 2007, moved to the one of the center back positions when senior Liam Carson suffered an injury early in the season. Since then, he has anchored a defense that currently ranks fifth in the nation with a 0.54 goals against average.

Leskow makes his first appearance on the all-conference team. He netted a pair of game-winning goals this season.

Keith, the 2007 America East Striker of the Year, has led the squad with seven goals and 15 points. He was named the America East Player of the Week on Oct. 26.

Manscuk, who was named to the All-Rookie team last season, was the other starting center back. Along with Neville, he paced a defense that has recorded 10 shutouts.

Tiedt currently has two goals and a pair of assists. He was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Sept. 15 after scoring the game-winning goal against then No. 21 Wisconsin.

Walter earned a starting midfield spot during preseason and has held on to it ever since. He tallied an assist in the Bearcats' win at Cornell on Sept. 26.

Binghamton (10-5-3) is the No. 3 seed heading into the America East Tournament. The Bearcats host No. 6 New Hampshire on Saturday at 7 p.m.
