Binghamton men's soccer loses to unbeaten Colgate 1-0
HAMILTON, N.Y. - Devin Deane broke a scoreless tie at the 63:40 mark, leading unbeaten Colgate (2-0) to a 1-0 win over Binghamton (0-2-1) in men's soccer action on Tuesday evening. The Bearcats outshot the host Red Raiders 16-11 but could not find the back of the net.
Deane's goal from 18 yards out and came off a throw in by Dan Belke. It was his second goal of the season.
Both teams had trouble getting going in the first half, with a pair of goals being disallowed each way. The Bearcats took nine of their shots in the second half but David Cappuccio recorded seven saves to post his second shutout of the season.
Binghamton heads to Dartmouth this weekend for the adidas/Hypertherm Classic. The Bearcats face the host school on Friday at 4 p.m. before squaring off against Long Island on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
