Binghamton men's soccer ties Colgate 1-1

HAMILTON, N.Y.-- Sophomore forward Scott Zobre (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) netted a first-half goal for Binghamton (1-1-1) as the men's soccer team fought to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Colgate (1-0-2) in the opening round of the Raiders/adidas Tournament on Friday evening.

Colgate Alex Weekes opened the scoring for Colgate in the 21st minute on an unassisted goal.

Zobre answered in the 40th minute for the Bearcats on an assist from Kyle Kucharski (Maine, N.Y.) to tie the game at 1-1 just before intermission.

Binghamton had a scoring opportunity in the form of a Barry Neville (Glasgow, Scotland) penalty kick in the 55th minute that was saved by Colgate goalkeeper David Cappuccio.

Binghamton squares off against Central Arkansas on Sunday at noon in the final round of the Raiders/adidas Tournament.
