Darkwah named America East Conference Player of the Week

VESTAL, N.Y.--Senior forward Charles Darkwah (Toronto, Ontario) has been named the America East Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 18-24. It marks the first time this season and second time in his career that he has received the honor. Last season, he got the award for the week of Sept. 22-28.

Darkwah scored two goals and recorded two assists this past week as nationally-ranked Binghamton won a pair of games. He had a career-high two assists in the Bearcats' 3-1 win over UMBC last Wednesday and turned in his third career two-goal game in Sunday's 3-0 victory at Maine.

Through 16 games, Darkwah leads the America East Conference with 11 goals and 27 points. He is also tied for the team lead with five assists.

With two games left to go in the regular season, Binghamton (10-1-5, 4-1-2 AE) has already clinched its second consecutive America East Tournament berth. The Bearcats have also returned to the NSCAA/adidas Top 25 Poll after a five week absence. They were ranked No. 24 in the poll released Oct. 19.

Binghamton hosts Vermont on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
