Binghamton men's soccer edges Hartford 1-0
VESTAL, N.Y.--Senior forward Charles Darkwah (Toronto, Ontario) scored the game winning goal against Harford (2-5-3) in the 75 minutes, leading Binghamton (7-1-4) to a 1-0 victory in a America East game Wednesday afternoon at West Gym Field.
Entering the second half both teams came back to the field allowing only five shots, none of which had found the back of the net. In the 75th minute Darkwah crashed the net on a shot by junior back Graham Munro (Inverness, Scotland), where he was on the doorstep of the goal to hammer in the rebound.
"Today was a good game between two good teams," head coach Paul Marco said. "They have one of the best scorers in the nation. We are really pleased we could hold them without a goal today."
Junior goalkeeper Stefan Gonet (Refrewshire, Scotland) stopped six shots on goal to recoreded his second solo shutout of the season.
