Manscuk named to America East Men's Soccer All-Academic Squad

America East Conference Release

VESTAL, N.Y.---Sophomore back Kyle Manscuk has been named to the America East All-Academic Squad for the 2008 season. It marks the first time in his career that he has attained the honor.

All-Academic squads for team sports are based on the number of athletes that participate in a contest at one time (e.g., 11 on the field for soccer). To be nominated for the distinction, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve for their team and participate in at least 50 percent of their team’s games or competitions. In the classroom, student-athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have completed at least one calendar year at their institution. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.

Manscuk, who was named second-team all-conference, paced a defense that ranked sixth during the regular season with a 0.54 goals against average. In 2007, he was named to the America East All-Rookie Team.

Binghamton finished the 2008 season 12-6-3 and advanced to its conference-record sixth consecutive America East championship game.
