Marist rallies to beat Binghamton 2-1

Box Score

VESTAL, N.Y. - Visiting Marist (4-0-1) scored two goals in the final 3:36 to defeat Binghamton (4-2-1) and remain unbeaten on the season. The Red Foxes trailed 1-0 before freshman forward Keith Detelj (Sayville, N.Y.) broke in and got enough on a shot to beat BU keeper Stefan Gonet and tie the score. Just 1:33 later, Detelj fed classmate Anthony Graci (Commack, N.Y.) on a through ball, and Graci beat Gonet for the game-winner.

Junior striker Charles Darkwah (Toronto, Ontario) had given the Bearcats a 1-0 lead when he converted a breakaway in the 68th minute.

"We played pretty well but didn't finish in the back," BU head coach Paul Marco said. "Our guys just got complacent in back, and instead of celebrating, we're not happy. This game should've been done."

Binghamton outshot Marist 14-13.

The Bearcats will continue their five-game homestand with a Wednesday match against Niagara.
