soccer team plays to 0-0 deadlock against Monmouth in season
The Binghamton men's soccer team played to a scoreless tie against Monmouth in the opening round of the Rider Bronc Fall Classic on Saturday. The game, which was the season-opener for both squads, was ruled a tie after 45 minutes when lightening was seen in the area.
Sophomore goalkeeper Stefan Gonet (Refrewshire, Scotland/ Langbank) made his first career start and posted two saves.
Monmouth outshout the Bearcats 4-3. Binghamton, however, had six corner kicks to Monmouth's two.
Binghamton will face Mt. St. Mary's (Md.) on Sunday at noon in the final round of the Bronc Fall Classic. The Mountaineers were a 3-2 loser in the other first round game on Saturday.
