Binghamton defeats Oneonta 1-0

Box Score

ONEONTA, N.Y.--Freshman midfielder John Sideris (Wyantskill, N.Y./ Columbia) scored an unassisted goal midway through the first half, leading Binghamton (6-10-1) to a 1-0 road victory over Oneonta (4-8-3) in a non-conference men's soccer game today. With the win, the Bearcats have now won two of their past three games.

"I'm very proud of the guys today," head coach Paul Marco said. "They brought passion and energy for 90 minutes."

Sideris scooped up a loose ball which the Red Dragons failed to clear and fired it into the net at the 29:06 mark of the game. It was his first career goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Matt Nolan (Rockville Center, N.Y./ Southside) went the full 90 minutes, recording his first career solo shutout. He made five saves against Oneonta, which outshot Binghamton 13-10.
