Quotes
from Men's and Women's Soccer Post Season Media Day
Men's Head Coach Paul
Marco
"UMBC has the
(America East) Striker of the Year and the Midfielder of the
Year so we are expecting a pretty good attacking side. We are
preparing for them similarly (as last week) but knowing that
they are going to make some adjustments. I don't see us playing
the same way but hopefully we have the same outcome."
"Each game in the playoffs is different than the regular
season but both teams are attack-minded. I think you will see
an exciting game on Saturday."
"I like where we are right now. I'd like to get a few guys
back healthy but I like our team. I like how we are playing.
I think the team has come together nicely and I think we are
ready for postseason."
"This week is an important week for us and certainly the
experience the guys bring from past postseasons will certainly
shine through and hopefully lead us to victory on Saturday."
Women's Head Coach Sarah McClellan
"We are back and re-focused after our win on Sunday
and we are ready to go. This is a big game for us and the mood
of our team right now is focused and composed. We are so much
further along than we have been all year that the players expect
to do well instead of just hoping."
"We are going to be looking for a good performance from
our backline and our keepers and we are going to be looking to
get the ball behind their backline. Finishing our chances and
being sharp in our defensive end (are also important)."
"Boston has eight all-conference players so they have a
load of good players all over the field. It's not about just
one or two players with them. They have a very well-coached and
organized team. But we think we match up well with them with
our athleticism and our possession style of play."
Men's senior back Kyle Kucharski
"We did well against UMBC the first time but they are
going to come at us with something new and got to be ready for
that. We have to come at them with the same or better."
"I think we are heading up. We had a tough game last night
but obviously this past weekend we did great. We scored four
goals which doesn't happen often. Hopefully we can carry this
past weekend's performance into the playoffs and go on a little
run."
Women's senior midfielder Amanda Casares
"Even in our Maine game (on Sunday) there weren't too
many clear-cut shots. Boston is going to be (even) less kick-and-run
than Maine was."
"When we played Boston back in September, we were a completely
different team. We have had some key victories since then and
things started clicking." |
