Binghamton men's soccer loses 1-0 exhibition game at No. 5 Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Daniel Martini broke a scoreless tie with six minutes remaining, leading No. 5 Penn State to a 1-0 win over visiting Binghamton in an exhibition game Monday night at Jeffrey Field. The game marked the first of two preseason contests for the Bearcats.

The two squads played a 55-minute first half and a 50-minute second half. Despite being outshot 14-7, Binghamton put up a valiant effort against the host Nittany Lions.

Binghamton's second and final preseason game will be next Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Cornell at the West Gym Field. The Bearcats kick off their regular season on Friday, August 25 with a 4 p.m. home game against Bucknell.
