Binghamton men's soccer ranked No. 20 in NSCAA/adidas weekly poll
VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton men's soccer team (1-0-1) has moved into the NSCAA/adidas Top 25 poll for the first time this season. As a result of its Coastal Carolina/adidas Tournament title, the Bearcats are ranked No. 20 in the poll released on Sept. 6.
After tying Furman 1-1 last Thursday in the opening round of the tournament, Binghamton defeated the host school 1-0 on Saturday night. Coastal Carolina has advanced to the last four NCAA Tournaments as the Big South Conference champion.
"This has been a great start to the season," head coach Paul Marco said. "It is something to build on but we are trying to get better every week. We have three big games to focus on this week."
Binghamton hosts St. Joseph's (Pa.) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. This weekend, the squad will travel to the St. Bonaventure Tournament.
Last season, Binghamton was ranked as high as No. 17 in the NSCAA/adidas poll. The Bearcats peaked at No. 26 at the conclusion of the 2003 season.
