|Men's soccer team signs three more high school players|
Vestal, N.Y. The Binghamton mens soccer team has received a national letter of intent from three more high school players, all of whom will join the squad when the 2003 season commences next fall. The Bearcats now have signed four players who will be part of their incoming class.
Bryan Arnault (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North) is a forward who was named All-Central New York by the Syracuse Post Standard. He was named first-team all-league in 2000 and 2001 before sustaining a season-ending injury four games into his senior season. Before the injury, Arnault had already scored six goals and tallied two assists. Cicero North won the Section 3 Class A Championship in 2000 and was a quarterfinalist in both 2001 and 2002.
Bryan covers a lot of ground on the field and has a good, competitive spirit, Binghamton head coach Paul Marco said. He will fit in very well with our team.
Daniel Blank (Levittown, N.Y./ Division Avenue) is a forward who competed for the Merrick Red Storm club soccer team that won the Regional Premiere League Championship in both 2001 and 2002. The team also won the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl in 2001 and was a State Cup finalist that same year. At Division Avenue High School, Blank was a four year starter and led the team in total points. He has also maintained a 4.0 GPA.
Daniel will be a good target for us up front, Marco said. He has a real knack for the goal."
Joe Neilson (Boothwyn, Pa./ Strath Haven) is a forward who scored 44 goals in his last two seasons at Strath Haven. He also had 16 assists his senior season. Neilson was named all-county and all-league in his senior season. He was also a member of the DELCO Club Team as well as the Eastern Pennsylvania ODP national championship squad.
Joe is a good high school player with the potential to develop into a great college player, Marco said. He has a good fast pace and he likes to go forward with the ball.
NOTES: Binghamton has now signed four players for the 2003 season. Ryan Bertoni (Owego, N.Y./ Owego), a goalie from nearby Owego High School signed earlier in the month.
