men's soccer game vs. Vermont on Oct. 18 to be televised by Time
VESTAL, N.Y.--The Binghamton
Athletic Department has announced that the men's soccer team's
game against Vermont on Oct. 18 will be televised by Time Warner
Sports. Starting at 7 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex, the
game will be a rematch of the past two America East Conference
"We are excited to have our first televised men's soccer
game at the Bearcats Sports Complex," head coach Paul Marco
said. "It's great to have it on homecoming weekend against
a very good opponent like Vermont."
Two years ago, the Bearcats won the America East title with a
1-0 win over Vermont in the finals. In 2007, however, Vermont
got even with a 1-0 triumph in the title game.
Binghamton's game against Vermont will take place during Homecoming
Weekend, which has historically drawn some of the biggest crowds
of the year. Last season, a Homecoming crowd of 1,782 fans watched
the Bearcats defeat Boston 2-1 in overtime on Oct. 6.
With Time Warner Sports as the television carrier, the Binghamton-Vermont
game will be made available to more than one million households
throughout central and northern New York. More details of the
broadcast will be made available at a later date.
NOTE: While the men's soccer team will make its first-ever
home television appearance, the women's team will have its Oct.
9 game against Boston at the Bearcats Sports Complex carried
live on the FOX Soccer Channel. The game will start at 8 p.m.
It will also mark the first-ever home television appearance for
the women's team.
