MORGANTOWN, W.V.-- Nassim Berhouni scored in the 14th minute,
leading No. 23 UNC-Wilmington (1-0) to a 1-0 win over Binghamton
(0-1) in the opening round of the West Virginia Men's Soccer
Classic on Friday afternoon. The game marked the first of four
straight games in which the Bearcats face a nationally-ranked
opponent.
Berhouni finished off a set piece by Shane Utterson by heading
the cross off the post and into the net. Brock Duckworth made
four saves in goal during the game to preserve the shutout.
UNC-Wilmington outshot Binghamton 10-8 for the game.
The Bearcats face No. 15 Monmouth on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in
the final round of the West Virginia Men's Soccer Classic |
